When i used the patch i had the same problem. After so many hours the sides didn't stick so well. So what i did was use black electric tape. Stick a strip over it and it held well.

I heard the patch gives you some crazy dreams....I ate carrot sticks to keep me from eating other food and i have a whole cup of stirrer straws if i need em. That's what got me through the first few weeks.

I'll be trying to quit again in a couple of weeks as soon as this Wellbutrin is in my system good.

I don't understand Confused I tried quitting using Wellbutrin and the Nicotrol inhaler. The first week that I was on the Wellbutrin, I didn't have that much of an urge to smoke (although I did smoke a little). After that, the Wellbutrin seemed to have lost its effect. My doctor said take one pill for 7 days, then 2 pills a day after that. I admit not being good about remembering to take them, but I felt like they weren't helping after the first week. Is the right strategy to take Wellbutrin a few weeks and then try to quit?

I always thought you needed to take the Wellbutrin for a couple of weeks to reach a therapeutic (pardon spelling) level.
It is after all an anti-depressant.

Update
24+ hours and still no smoking. I just need to stay busy. The hardest part for me is driving. I always light one up in the car.

after more than 20 years i quit.

i had attempted before but failed.

but i read something that said if that happens and you go back
you should keep limiting your self where you smoke.

so by the time i quit for good i only smoked while sitting at my
kitchen table and outside.

i stopped smoking everyplace else including my car.

by the time i decided to try to quit again i had limited myself to
where i smoked for 2 years.

when i quit i only did it because of my 45th birthday.... i was so not
in the mood to quit. i kept saying i don't want to do this !!! i was a
bear for the first two weeks and it was much harder than any of the
times before.

each time i attempted to quit i used the patch and so i used that again.

i also got weird dreams. make sure to switch the spots you put it on
every day. i used the strong patch an extra 2 weeks before i moved
on to the medium patch.

some people i know that quit found it helpful to talk about it.

i found the total opposite happened to me. in fact by the time i did quit
i hid it from everyone so people would not ask me how i was doing.
i could not stand the constant all day long from different people saying
how is it going ? how are you doing ? how do you feel ? blah blah ....

so people did not know that i quit until after i had passed that two week
mark and felt sane again. some people did not know for a month after
and some of my more pesty friends i did not tell until 3 months later.

it will be 3 years this coming april. sometimes i still think about going back
but then i remember how hard it was to quit and that stops me.

my best friend almost finds it comforting to talking about it all
the time while she is quitting. she has quit a few times.

i think part of the trick is to try to figure out what works best for you
and do that.

good luck !!!

Very Happy

That's what I thought if you use Wellbutrin as an anti-depressant. I was kinda shocked that it had an immediate effect on my urge to smoke. I don't understand why it lost it's effect after about a week.

Good job!!! Maybe it would help if you take the ashtray out of the car. Or just don't take your cigarettes with you at all.
