hi,
i have a 4 year old papillon and she is so afraid of dogs. i dont know if this is true but i think its because shes so small. i mean u know how small they are! shes even afraid of smaller dogs than her. we took her to a dog park and all the dogs were playing around and having fun exept 4 her i thought she was sad. the other dogs came up 2 her and got close to her but she started running away with her tail between her legs and her ears hanging low and her head and face was in a sad position.

i only have one dog and i really love and i would like her to make friends with other dogs and play with them cuz i feel sorrry for her. Crying or Very sad please help me with this problem!! Exclamation Exclamation Sad

Not every dog needs to make friends with other dogs....after all, she has you for a friend! Very Happy Dog parks can get hectic, and you never know who's going to show up. You might be better off taking her for a walk AROUND the fenced in areas that have loose dogs and just let her smell and observe from a distance. If she begins to act afraid, DO NOT coddle her and tell her 'its okayyyy!!' Instead, talk in a jolly tone like "Crazy girl....lets go check it out!" and lure her forward with treats. Never force her into a situation where she has to go face to face with another dog. Let her have her distance...

Some dogs just don't enjoy other dog's company, and thats okay! As long as she behaves herself around other dogs, and you can keep her focus on you, thats all that matters. Very Happy
