I hope you dont mind me making this into a poll but I thought it would be easier to know how everyone feels by making a poll Smile

The poll didn't work for me, but my vote is to let the cat keep his extra legs, assuming that there are no associated health problems or risks with that.

Seems to me that the answer depends entirely on what the vet recommends. If there is a high risk of problems due to removing them, and the cat can live a reasonably "normal" life with them, why take the risk? On the other hand, if the risk is fairly low and they are causing the cat problems that lower his quality of life, why not remove them?

You need an "It depends" choice.

I agree a 100% with ren and beaglelover.

Why subject him to a major surgery if he's not in pain.

I agree, if the two extra legs are not bothering him, causing him pain, or impeding his ability to move, then why remove them? he's not a person, he doesnt care how he looks. he just wants someone to feed him and love him and clean his box. two extra legs dont affect any of that....

They should ask a veterinarian and see what the vet says, so I guess my answer would be neither. Laughing If he can live a normal life with the legs, then he should keep them. If they can hurt him in some way or it's not comfortable for him, they should do surgery. Only a vet would be able to tell and someone who is fostering the cat and sees how he does with his legs.

but the balls must go! All 3 of them! Laughing

I'm on the if they don't cause any problem, keep em. My dog has a shrunk and bent arm. It was suggested that we have the limb removed for cosmetic reasons, but since she uses it for other things...like propping up rawhides when she chews them... and it doesn't cause any problems, we kept her as is.

(As a side, my DH saw the cat pictures and said ewww cut them off)
