Has anyone else noticed, That Blue And Merle Pit Bulls Prices are VERY High? Why Would Someone Pay Thousands of dollars for these dogs when, If in fact Blue Is So Rare, Why are there tons of them In shelters.
Also Merle Pit Bulls, a unnatural color for the breed, therefore someone mixed another dog breed into the lines so your paying $1,200+ For a mutt..
And How Come Small Mix breeds cost $500-$1,000 and small purebreeds are about $200-$300? I mean seriously People, There are many at shelters all the time.
Labradoodles, Doberdoodles, Goldendoodles....OMG!
Whats the point of crossing Standard Poodles with other dogs like so, and still charging $600+ per puppy, You Can find them in shelters too...
I jst don't get how stupid people are these days, to Pay so much money to a back yard breeder of mixed mutts, When you can go to a shelter and spend $50-$200 For A Mixed Mutt, With Shots and Spaying/Neutering plus other benifits.....I dunno What do you People Think??? |

People want to think that they have something "special" or "rare", solely basing on color. Blue is such a popular color now, because it was thought to be rare... although I see plenty of homeless blue pit bulls. Merle is most definitely a mix, but because it's so unique, people want it.
Why do people want expensive jewelery, or fancy cars? It's a way for people to try to acheive some sort of status symbol - "if I CAN afford to pay so much for these shoes, or this dog, then it shows that I am better than you, and you can look up to me."
At least that's why I think people do it... it's all in the way that they explain their pet. You can tell if they're bragging about how much they cost, or that it's a "new or rare breed". They're trying to make up for something, or stand out, or feel important, and using a living creature to do that for them. Not all people are like that - but I think there are a lot of people who think that way when they buy a dog. |

Catahoula Dogs are one of the breeds mixed into pits for the color.
Since they look very simular its Easy for someone to Mix Cata/Pit and get 50% puppies then mix another pit 75% "Pure" pit pups and then another Pit which Equals 100% "Purebred" But if you look at it there mutts, and in order to keep the merle coat more catahoula mixes need to be added into the lines...so Is A Merle Pit REALLY PURE!?! not for $1,200-$3,000...Champion Lines, Rare coat....Etc...But this is not a recconized Coat pattern in The AKC, UKC for pit bulls. So in fact if there are "Champion" lines, It wont due you no good if you can't show and in most cases register the puppies. |
