|
|
I don't want to get into a hunting debate but I am sure that everyone here will agree that canned hunts are disgusting! I was looking though the paper when I came across an ad for canned hunting. I am typing it strait out of the paper:
Hunting itch? pheasants and chuckars, BUFFALO HUNTS; Utah yearlings, $650-$775. Two year, $850. Three year Bulls, $1600. You keep the meat, head, and robe!
I find this totally disgusting! Aren't buffalo protected? Who would actually find sport in this? They put them in a pen and let you go for them. I called! Yah, Thats sport for ya! |

| I don't think that buffalo are considered endangered anymore. Canned hunts aren't sporting, but it's really no better or worse than what happens on ranches and farms. |

I find it funny that the argument of hunters is that they are protecting the roads from deer being hit by cars and they are protecting the deer themselves from starving to death by hunting them. There are so many deer that they are starving and that is why they must be killed.
Plus there is the sportsmanship of hunting, the skill and the expertise and the male bonding.
okaayyy so doesn't that all go out the window with a canned hunt? Isn't that kind of like fishing in a bucket? I would seriously make fun of any man (or woman) who had to go on a canned hunt to get any game.
"Boy, you must be proud of yourself, big guy!" |

| There is a difference between a farm and a canned hunt. Farms are there to provide for ones family and it is a way of life. When they slaughter an animal it is done efficently and quick. With a canned hunt it doesn't matter how inexperienced the shooter is. It can take many shots before the person actually kills the animal. And I don't care what some people say animals do feel. They feel pain and terror just like humans do. In some hunts they drug the animals to make it easier for the shooter. I, personally, think they should be outlawed. Shooting an animal five or six times over a period of an hour or more is not sport it is cruelty. |
