I rescued a mama cat, she is a white long hair with yellow eyes. Two weeks after I brought her home she had 5 kittens. Of the 5, one is all white like her but his eyes never changed color; they stayed blue. I took him to the vet and he confirmed that he is deaf. I have too many cats already so I need to get these kittens their shots and fixed. I'm very worried about the little deaf boy. Does anyone have experience with a deaf cat? Any ideas on what would be the best situation for him?
i have a deaf cat that i took in as a stray...she was about 6 months old at that time and is now 15 years old..she has lived all her life with a number of hearing cats...i try to always announce my coming... i touch her when i want her to do something...i touch and pet her alot.....i make sure the other cats don`t pester her, but she is quite able to hold her own.......other than that i allow her to set her own life style..she eats what everyone else eats..she has no litter problems...she has a loud meow because she can`t hear herself...she sleeps by herself usually in a place where she won`t be suprised by another cat.
i honestly believe living with other cats has allowed her to function as a normal hearing cat because she can follow the other cats lead in every day doings.
