People complain about how bad the South is. Take a look at this Facebook page and open your eyes to what happens every day in NYC. Look at the folders of Gone but NOT Forgotten. Look at the SAFE folder and realize if it weren't for the tireless work of overwhelmed rescues in DESPERATE need of foster homes, no dogs would leave NYCACC alive. Go ahead, claim there are nothing but pitbulls available for adoption in the Northeast. Then get your head out of the sand.
Residents of NYC and the state of New York, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

In particlar, look at this poor 10-year old Yorkie, Nam. Owner surrender on July 16, he died last night, alone in his kennel, of pneumonia running rampant through the kennels night before his scheled euthanasia. Died in his own sputem and phlegm. New Yorkers, have you no pride?

I agree .It is time New Yorkers wake up to this animal cruelty.Your taxpayer dollars are funding these atrocities.
Why does an animal die because the owner was evicted? Was this dog given any medical intervention?

''Call to Arms, Change DEMANDED in NYC ACC Euthanasia Policies and Practices''
"Julie Bank was hired by the city of New York as Director of NYC Animal Care & Control. Since she has taken over the shelter operations, more dogs and cats are being killed then ever before. Between the 5 boroughs of Manhattan on a low average there are about 30 dogs killed nightly, and they are killed 7days a week, Thats at least a 210 dogs a week. Most of the dogs coming into the shelter system in New York are pit bulls. More then 60% of the dogs that come through the doors are adotpable.
Julie Bank thinks euthanizing as many dogs as she can, is acceptable."
