While dogs appear to have been domesticated about 15,000 years ago and kibble and canned food became popular only after World War II, feeding manufactured food to dogs has become the way to feed.
The reason almost certainly has to do with involvement of multi-nationals--and the money they lavish on advertising and veterinarians.

| Wow what an interesting article. Thanks for posting. It all comes down to doing your research and reading labels. It’s easy to be lazy and buy the cheapest food for ourselves and our pets, but there ARE pet food companies out there like Natural Balance (which is what I’ve been feeding for years) that care about what goes into the food and even has a testing results page on their website to prove to their costumers how safe the food is. I trust this brand and even have called their customer service and talked to their vet techs; they are informed and they care. I always read labels and do my research on everything I can both for my dogs and for my family. |
