Since Mutts4Me posted about mamograms I have been doing it yearly --last year they did a do over of left but decided it was a shadow This year they saw "something" on right so I was not very concerned the clinic that took the pictures had to collect all old xrays (I see different clinics as insurance and doctors change) -----SOOOOOOOOOOO Monday was a ultasound and biopsy ---still not to concerned ----radiologist looked after biopsy (done by computer image) said looked suspecious ----yesterday call from a 'Nurse Navigator' and now I AM SCARED!!!!!! It is small 8mm (good), grade 1 (good) in milk duct but it is invasive (not so good), ---Penny is just following and sitting looking at me --how does she know I will be talking to my internist tomorrow ---a friend told me to take a deep breath and don't rush into anything ----Nurse Navigator said normal procedure is removal and radiation and maybe meds if it is hormone positive ---except for child birth (and visiting others) this is my first surgery ----
Sorry this is so long |

Good for you for keeping up with it and getting everything checked out. It's too bad you're having to have surgery, but it sounds like you caught it early!
Do you know when you will be having the surgery?
My thoughts are with you. _________________

You are also in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us posted as soon as you can. I went thru something similar over a year ago and all is fine. You are a tough woman, I can tell, so I know you will be just fine. (((Hugs & Chunk kisses))) _________________

Oh my dearie! I am so sorry sweetie!! Getting a diagnosis other than "benign" is not fun, I can tell you! The fear of the unknown is the biggest fear of all. I promise you, that you will get thru this, and be fine! I call life a 'journey'. We just don't know what road our path will take, and when we have to make a detour, or go over a few speed-bumps, well, we just keep on going, until our 'new' path becomes our road....does that make sense?? I am going to send you my phone number in a PM. Please call me, and I will tell you what to expect every step of the way!! Got you in my prayers girlfriend!!! Sending you strength and positive vibes....call me!! _________________

I can understand why you're scared. I hate any kind of medical procedure. And anything that has to do with "the big C" is especially scary!
It sounds like you caught it early, though. Which is good!
A few years ago I had a scare. (It turned out to be just a scare, thank goodness.) But when I was at the hospital for some tests, I saw a stuffed animal in the gift shop. It was a kiwi. They're supposed to be very tough, even nasty, little birds. I thought it would be good to have it to help me be tough through whatever was coming. I bought it. It's still sitting in my living room.
So, I'm sending tough kiwi thoughts your way. |
