Post subject: Momma Urgent Beagle/Coonhound mix faces euth.

Momma is a beagle/coonhound mix. She had 9 puppies, and they have all been placed into rescue/new homes, but momma was left behind. Right now she is at a house with a foster parent that did not want the puppies reaching the pound floor. The woman that has her cannot keep her because she is super timid and scared of teenage boys. Momma has a lot of social issues so when she arrives at the pound im afraid these are going to get worse and she is facing euthanasia if she does not get the help she needs.

We do our best at the pound, but we cannot individually work with each animal brought to us since we house 50-60 dogs and most of the time its just the dog warden and one other helper out at the pound.

Please if you can help momma let us know, she can get into the vet to be spayed, and shots on Aug 10th. If she has a rescue by then the woman keeping her has agreed to hold her until then. She needs a foster home where she is the only one getting attention and being worked with.

Momma, has not had any hits at all. Noone seems to be interested in pulling her. She is timid and needs work, but will make a good dog.

I was wondering why the dog needs to be the only dog in a foster home. I have fostered plenty of backwards dogs and it was my personal dog that helped to bring the homeless dogs out of there shell. Most foster homes have personal animals, I think the dog would have more opportunities if maybe a description was put up about how she is doing, her fears etc just a suggestion not criticizing,

The woman that is fostering her says she only gets worse whenever there is another dog around. we feel she needs to gain trust in humans before we bring her into a situation with other dogs, but that is the rescues choice. when they ask how she is around other dogs we are not going to say great when she is not. we are just straight forward telling what the best situation is for her.
