Post subject: MORE DOGS/RICHLAND POUND/MANSFIELD OH
Reply with quote

RESCUES AND ADOPTERS - THANK YOU FOR CARING AND STEPPING UP AT SO MANY TIMES OF CRISIS. WE DON'T KNOW WHERE ALL THE DOGS ARE COMING FROM AND WE APOLOGIZE FOR SOUNDING LIKE A BROKEN RECORD, BUT WE JUST CAN'T GIVE UP ON TRYING TO GET EVERY SINGLE DOG OUT TO SAFETY.
HERE ARE SOME OF OUR DOGS WE DON'T WANT TO FORGET.

Petey

Boxer Mix: An adoptable dog in Mansfield, OH

Large • Young • Male

Meet Petey...he was found by some good samaritans who said that he is good with kids and other dogs and seems housetrained. He is young..probably about a year old and quite the cutie. Hurry in to meet Petey...his life depends on your help....UPDATE: Petey was adopted and returned. He was returned because he growled at the adopter when he was being beaten for pottying in the house....poor Petey.

Pedro

Rat Terrier Mix: An adoptable dog in Mansfield, OH

Small • Senior • Male

Meet Pedro...he was left in our outside kennels and found by the staff when they came to work on 7/26/11. He is an older gentleman and he really doesn't deserve to spend his remaining days in a dog pound. Please help this little guy.

Abe

Shepherd: An adoptable dog in Mansfield, OH

Large • Adult • Male

Meet Abe...he came in as a stray on 7/26/11. He is a happy and friendly guy who doesn't deserve to be here at the dog pound. I mean what are his chances? Please help him and help all of our dogs. We are totally overwhelmed with dogs and not everyone is going to make it out of here without some help ASAP.

Harpo

Terrier Mix: An adoptable dog in Mansfield, OH

Medium • Senior • Male

Meet Harpo...he came in as a stray on 6/7/11. He doesn't like to be picked up but maybe that will go away as he settles in. It is hard to say what that is all about. He is an older gentleman and he is already neutered so hopefully his owner will be looking for him. This what the people who found him and tried to find his owner said about him - He is house broken. He walks very well on his leash. He loves to get up on the couch and bed and be close to people. He rides very well in the car.

Roy

WATCH ROY'S VIDEO http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ZJZZV7cK-S4
Labrador Retriever/Retriever Mix: An adoptable dog in Mansfield, OH

Large • Young • Male

Meet Roy. He came in as a stray on 7/21/11. Roy knows some basic commands. Even though Roy is a big boy, he is a big baby. Come in and meet Roy soon.

Foxy

WATCH FOXY'S VIDEO http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=wg8huz4KjTk
Cattle Dog/Terrier Mix: An adoptable dog in Mansfield, OH

Medium • Adult • Female

Meet Foxy....she came in as a stray on 6/15/11. I am hoping and praying that she is not pregnant. She is extremely broad across the back and she just seems to be carrying more than her share of weight. Time will tell, but let's hope that she is just chubby and not full of puppies. UPDATE: Foxy looks like she has lost some weight and she is looking more slim and trim than when she first came in. Must be a case of someone totally spoiling her but why are they not coming for her...just heartbreaking...please help Foxy...

Hunter

Black Labrador Retriever Mix: An adoptable dog in Mansfield, OH

Medium • Young • Male

Meet Hunter....he is a young guy who came in as a stray on 6/6/11. He is really sweet and little does he know how much his life is now in jeopardy because we are totally overwhelmed with dogs. Please spread the word that we are desperate for help for our dogs

Peppy

Chihuahua Mix: An adoptable dog in Mansfield, OH

Small • Young • Male

Meet Peppy. He came in as a stray on 7/20/11. Peppy is a nice little guy who tries to act bigger than he is in size. Come in and meet him soon. He will certainly steal your heart.

Zeus

Rottweiler: An adoptable dog in Mansfield, OH

Large • Senior • Male

Meet Zeus...he came in as a stray on 8/2/11. He is an older guy and he seems pretty mellow. He gets up to go for a walk outside but other than that he just lays quietly in his kennel. His pictures make him look not very friendly but he is just a big baby. Poor guy...must feel pretty bad to be stuck here at the dog pound at this stage of his life. Can someone help Zeus?

Screech

Rottweiler Mix: An adoptable dog in Mansfield, OH

Large • Adult • Male

Meet Screech...he came in as a stray on 8/3/11. Just look at this loveable face!! He is such a sweetheart. Please come in and meet him and all of our dogs...we are desperate to find some help for them.

Bella

Shepherd/Husky Mix: An adoptable dog in Mansfield, OH

Large • Young • Female

Meet Bella...she came in as a stray on 7/13/11. She is quite young and all puppy so she has lots of energy and spunk. Please come in and meet Bella and all of our dogs. We need your help and your support.

Squirt

Dachshund/Beagle Mix: An adoptable dog in Mansfield, OH

Small • Young • Male

Squirt came in as a stray on 7-30-11. He is a cute, energetic, sweet little guy who loves to play...come in and check him out

Are there any local TV or radio stations that could do a piece on your crisis? My local shelter has been getting slammed too, but after local news put out their distress call they had a big spike in adoptions for several days.

Thanks again, CQI . Two pitties are the most desperate; they are beautiful sweet dogs that love everyone and get along with other dogs. They are too young to die.

50$ sponsorship to an approved rescue for the two pitties, Bosco and Abby , and Skippy, the black hound mix !

Please help! I'm afraid more people will be dumping dogs before the 4th of July holiday.

News articles are a great idea; and there was one last week. One of our facebook members also just sent a letter to the editor of the local paper about the crisis. Hope it helps!

Posted Thu Jul 14, 2011 10:49 am:

update on dogs pictured in reply: first two Rotti Alex and all American Griffin, who was kept while his crushed toes healed, were both euthanized last week.

Carmel and Chocolate, the two young scared labs , were both adopted.

Blaze, brown shepherd mix, still waits for rescue. She is a very sweet dog.

Ebony, still needs rescue the sweet tripod . She is sponsored for 50$ to an approved rescue. She met our pitti, Bosco, and was great. She is a good dog.

Skippy, the big goof, has a video you should watch - he is so loving and sweet. Skippy has 50$ sponsorship to an approved rescue. He is a deserving boy - shouldn't die in the pound.

One of our Pitties, Abby, has found her home - Bosco is still waiting. He is a wonderful dog - watch his video.

Do you have an update for Dumplin, the Beagle with the head tilt? Any idea on whether she is pregnant or just obese (ex: is she lactating?)
Also, has anyone looked in her ears to see if she has ear infections? That may be causing her head tilt.

I thought she wente to the vet last week; let me check and see what I can find out.

Ebony , our tripod went to rescue!

Posted Wed Jul 20, 2011 10:27 am:

Here's an update on Dumpling : she did go to the vet and she is NOT PREGNANT. The vet even thinks she has a spay scar. Dumpling has been placed on ear meds (how right you were) for an ear infection, and the volunteers are seeing an improvement. They don't think she is tilting as much. If you can help get her out, please contact kochheisers@yahoo.com. Thanks!
