| I would say quality is more important when it comes to wet or dry. I feed both wet and dry twice a day. |

Do you mean canned or kibble?
Depends on the dog. Also, brand and formulas to manufacture do vary. Some foods have lots of grain. If your dog has allergies, you will have problems. Some dogs will do well on the cheapest food, others require special expensive foods. Some people feed raw food, others cook their own. Some use kibble, some canned, some mix and match. Try some different brands, see what your dog likes and does well with. I feed primarily kibble, with water added, and rotate through some quality brands. Treats are frequently fresh apple or banana pieces, sometimes potato, tomato, or squash. Careful with broccoli and asparagus . It's edible, but the dog will drive you out of small rooms.
It can be simple or complicated. Your choice.

I would agree that quality means more than wet/dry. I feel dry kibble, but it's a high quality. If I had more money, I would probably feed raw. I just feel that you should provide the highest quality food you can afford.

Dry dog food is convenient to store, but many pet nutritionists say that canned food can be better than dry food, mostly because it contains fewer preservatives (because the canning process itself acts as a preservative). Canned dog food generally contains less grain and more moisture, which helps keep a dog hydrated and benefits the urinary tract. (Dogs need clean water available at all times, anyway).
Just read the labels on whichever food you choose. There are some excellent dry foods out there, you just won't find them in a supermarket. |

Canned food has more preservatives. Thats why its usually good for 1+ years. |
