If I couldn't afford to go to obedience classes, I'd start by Googling NILIF or "Nothing in Life is Free" and get busy with training at home. Please take a look at training options - sometimes the community education office has fairly inexpensive options with certified trainers. _________________

I was going to suggest NILIF. You can read about it here:

Besides using the NILIF system, you should also enroll in an obedience class. You would benefit by having the guidance of an instructor who can show you what you're doing wrong. |

there are loads of inexpensive books and dvd's available on dogwise.com - your local library may even carry some of them. However, forgoing a few luxuries for a month would give you enough for one inhome visit with a professional trainer... look here for referrals local to you.

I have had good success when using a spray bottle when my dog barks at things I don't want her to bark at (like when she is at work with me). She immediately knows she did something wrong. But I always praise her when a noise sounds and she DOESN;T bark. Positive reinforcement is key. Good luck. _________________ Mom to Ava, and Italian Greyhound and Jackson, a Spaniel Mix.
