If you’ve ever wanted to help animal victims of natural disasters, cruelty or neglect, this is your chance.
On Saturday, September 25 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United Animal Nations (UAN) will train volunteers to join its Emergency Animal Rescue Service, which provides free temporary sheltering for animals displaced by natural disasters or rescued from mass cruelty situations.
UAN volunteers care for, feed and comfort animals until they can be reunited with their families, placed with rescue groups or adopted into new homes.
One-hundred EARS volunteers traveled to Cedar Rapids from across the United States and Canada in June and July 2008 to help care for more than 1,000 displaced animals at a temporary shelter at Kirkwood Community College.
