Pet Finders Alert, or other aliases operated by Gary B. Hack.
This so called service is not a real business or service. There is no licensed business with this name. It is a con-job, scam that targets innocent and distraught people that have lost pets. You need to be a low rent individual to cause your pets to be put to sleep because that’s what happens as a result of Hacks criminal activities. Hack operates this con-job across the USA.
Gary Hack operates the scam from his home . Hack scans newspaper ads around the country for pet lost & found ads, craigslist ads, and other Internet ads, searching ads for lost pets. He then telephones a target with a sympathetic pitch, offering to locate the victims lost pet for $59.99.
Hack lies to people with such terms as: “We are professionals.” "We will hold your hand every step of the way, etc." "We utilize our computers and telephone systems to call your neighbors, local Vets, animal shelters, animal control, etc. in your area." "You need to locate your pet right now, before its put to sleep and only we can do that, etc." "We will always be in close contact, etc." "We are bonded licensed and insured." "You will receive full reports."
Once Hart cons the distraught target he gets a credit card/debit card number and hits the card. That's the last time the victim ever hears from Pet Finders Alert. No one is actually called.
It appears Hack has operated one version or another of this and similar scams for the last several years under various names and titles. Although his real name is not widely known, his operation is considered a well known criminal activity in the pet community. Hacks victims are distraught pet owners desperate to locate lost animals, and are often the elderly and children. This scam prevents the owner from reuniting with their lost pet because the victim believes Pet Finders Alert is on the job doing what they promised. Lost family pets are put to sleep or never located due to the despicable and criminal actions of Hack.
I am continuing my efforts to expose this operation and hope to bring this individual to justice. He’s making a lot of money by intentionally harming the innocent and distraught pet owners across the country. Perhaps you can help. Let’s start by shutting down his ability to get money through credit/debit cards. Let’s bring this creep to justice.
