Instead of fund-raiser I think this is something Rescues could offer on their site every day (assuming someone has time to do it).
1) I was thinking maybe people would like to have their Pets Picture printed on t-shirt????
The transfer kit you buy at Wal-mart - Epson Iron-on Transfer Pack $15.88. Their are 10 sheets - $1.58 per sheet + cost of plain tee $3-5 (get price-break when bought in bulk) then sell for what..$20-30 a piece? Thats a profit of $15-25 per shirt! I would buy one of my dog...people are crazy about their pets & spend alot of money on them...I think it's worth a try! I made one with my son & dog together, really cute!! The thing is, even though its easy to DIY, a lot of people don't have the time or inclination to do so, it's easier/more convenient for them to buy the shirt from You!
2) I also thought you could try it on canvas totes, haven't tried it yet, not sure it would work!
3) Maybe even mugs, though I'm completely unsure how that would work?!
Would take something entirely different...I don't believe you can iron anything on a mug!! (never tried though) LOL
Well I hope you don't think my ideas are too dumb...don't judge me too harshly, just trying to help!! |

| I am actually on the same page as you, but I've started a website for it. www.sewpuppy.com and I'm trying to start to evolve it to be more of a place where rescue groups can be connected with the general public, if you have any other ideas of what would help rescues out, I'd love to hear them! |

You might like to check out CafePress.com. There you can create totes, mugs, t-shirts and a variety of other items like you mentioned here. Then you can sell them for a profit. I think it would be perfect for the ideas you just mentioned.
It's free to register and the site is really easy to use. Just add your photos to the products, set your prices, enter a short description and send potential customers to the store URL you'll be given. |

For those who are photographers...
Our vet had a photographer in the office one day taking pics of those who wanted them of their animals. Now granted, there may be some visits where you wouldn't want a picture taken but you could set up days and times for people to sign up. Part of the procedes could go to yours or the animals( or their parents) rescue of choice. |

I like the picture idea. Especially on Halloween it would be a really fun idea. I know lots of folks who dress up their pet then. You could charge $5 and maybe even loan a costume or hat for the picture.
We have a gal that sews bandannas for us as fund raisers too. |
