This is a great thread. It's like an early election. Lol. Anyway, I think it's going to be a tough fight between Obama and Palin. They both have great ideas and good plans for America. Smile

Yes, isn't it interesting how the Obama campaign is characterizing this race as Obama vs Palin or Biden vs Palin -- but not Obama vs McCain.

Because McCain is older'n dirt. Razz Chances are, if he wins the election, Palin will be Pres!

I know that's what the Dems want people to believe but I think it's unlikely that she will become president in his first term. He's only 72 (isn't that right?). Of course, if he was 52 he could die in office but I think he is pretty healthy and will have the best medical care so I don't think the odds are all that high that she will become president in his first term. Now, he may not run for a second term so she may get her chance in 2012.

Did you notice at the Republican convention how they kept showing his 95 year old mother? She seems healthy and spry. I think that was an attempt to show that longevity runs in his family! (At least on his mother's side).

No, it's not a joke. They've made a big issue out of it. You know the "she would only be a heartbeat away from the presidency" line?

That's just as true of Joe Biden though. And --male genitalia-- Cheney <shudders> who is just a heartbeat away and will be until the next Pres is established.

He was in my area yesterday (or was it the day before?) and had a really good turnout. I would have gone but I hate A) crowds, B) boring speeches, and C) traffic, and this was guaranteed to have D) all of the above. Laughing

Um, you do have to think about who the VP nominee is because any president can die in office. Palin as president scares the **** out of me and I am a registered Republican.

I hope people who really don't want to vote McBama will consider voting 3rd party....even if they don't win, the more people that vote for something other than Replubican or Democratic, the more that will hear about other options and maybe, just maybe, we can eventually really get someone different in there. Wink

Thanks to people who have posted surveys on here...that's how I knew about other options!

Far as who I think....ugh, I don't know. I'm not looking forward to finding out, though, b/c I really don't think Obama or McCain know what they're doing. I really want Ron Paul, but unfortunately, he's not an option right now.
