I was finally able to catch a Petfinder Show and was disappointed that it did not involve the website Petfinder.com at all. While I'm sure it was entertaining for some, it did not feature the use of the site or how one's own viewer family could benefit from going to the site. I saw Petfinder.com shown twice for only a few seconds, and no real explanation of what all is available on the site. I think the show could be greatly expanded and much more interactive for the viewers. I would like to see a show where the families searching for pets would process the pet search, showing pages of photos of available animals....possibly in the process, viewers might actually see the dog of their dreams! Or feature a state and show a family browsing the state shelter and rescue list. It could be very educational, showing the differences between pounds, shelters, humane societies, rescue groups, pet stores and breeders. Or how about an episode showing people connecting a lost or found dog with its owner by using the Petfinder.com features. One show could actually feature a shelter or rescue group, and show how animals end up homeless and how they are processed to be ready for adoption. I would love to see a show featuring one adoptable pet, his complete story from homeless to home. While the general prospect and process of adoption are featured on the Petfinder Show, I would like to see more use of the website incorporated into the show, I think viewers would like to see how they could become involved. Even a show on volunteers would be great, or how people can donate or transport or sponsor animals to help them find new homes. It think it would be highly effective to somehow air photos of adoptable animals on the show or the commercials. Please feature horses on a show, they are in such need right now. I don't know the legalities of my ideas of showing photos or actual Petfinder.com pages on TV, but I would like to see it. Thanks for listening to me vent. I am glad that the show was created and draws attention to the Petfinder.com website! Thanks!

Thanks so much for watching and for your suggestions! Currently we are focusing on adoptions for this show and are thrilled at all the new visitors coming to PF as a result.
Animal Planet is looking for additional show ideas, so any one with great ideas please feel free to submit them at the following link: http://submissions.discovery.com/

As always, thank you for supporting Petfinder.com and the adoption of homeless pets!

I'm glad there is more traffic to the Petfinder site. I guess I had just expected, because of the name of the show, that it would involve the site as part of the show, too. Thanks for any and all exposure.

Petadmin: the Corporation's e-submission is as --rear end-- retentive as possible.
By the time each of us became a corporation so that we could submit to
them we would all be dead.

Once again - do a multipart program on Alley Cat Allies and the TNR movement that is helping to save feral cats and establishing feral cat colonies and reducing their population through Trap-Neuter-Return instead of more vicious and violent ways. Since their national headquarters is about 30 minutes from Discovery's headquarters it wouldn't be difficult. The founder/president travels nation wide promoting the virtues of the program. A series that could be run world wide and re-run over and over again could save untold numbers of animals. TNR1 does a clinic once a month in Fairfax which would provide enough for one program.

Turn that into corporate speak and give it a corporate submission code
and remind them that these animals are living, breathing beings.
