Dear Animal Rescue and Protection Organization,

As you probably know many southern cities in Peru sustained devastation and total destruction due to an 8.0 earthquake August 15, 6: 41 pm. The hardest hit were Pisco, Chincha, Ica and smaller towns in between.

We are very concerned about people and their pets. This special letter is being sent to request assistance from animal organizations as our pet population is in crisis. With so many homes destroyed, our citizens are unable to care for their pets even basic needs. We are in the process of developing a multi-stage plan for this problem. With help from local and international organizations, to include Canada and United States of America.

This plan will deal with the current crises providing relief in the short-term, and will include for the long-term, ongoing animal health care.

The local contact in Lima, Peru is Shari Artadi with The Association for Protection of Animals. This contact should be used for information in regards to the response.
email:
shariartadi@gmail.com, 051-1 9971-4775.

To make immediate donation please send funds to website : www.amazoncares.org and the tax deductable monies will go directly to help the animals.

Our most urgent needs are:

• VOLUNTEERS WITH EXPERIENCE IN ANIMAL CARE POST DISASTER
• VETRINARIANS WITH MEDICINES
• CAGING/SHELTERING SUPPLIES

For long-term goals:

• PET FOOD AND BOWLS
• GROOMING SUPPLIES

Thanks a lot
