somewhat related, came up because there’s a mention of Ft. Lauderdale, rescuer states he doesn’t think he’ll be reuniting a lot of the animals he rescued (photos of a few dogs, including at least one GSD – btw, he mentions one GSD he rescued he would not be returning to owner; ALSO THERE IS 1 VERY GRAPHIC PHOTO ):

someone did some great work and made good notes w/photos regarding Katrina Cocker Spaniels & suspected mixes (Shih Tzu, Poodle, Havanese and more). Lost and MANY found listings (if anyone is still working on Tobias the Shih Tzu mix I’d suggest double-checking your notes to be sure you’ve considered some of the found mixes noted here, especially this “guy” ID#A001201 tracking number is LA1285, # PF30156 – gender was not specified, person had contacted for rescue info – looks like there was no response):

This has not been posted on NOLA.
Also, I want to mention it this year BEFORE we hit the aniversary date of Katrina. Last year I stumbled onto several Katrina anniversary issues of newsletters for rescue groups that had been involved with the rescues. Many of those rescues took the opportunity to also highlight Katrina pets they still had. I think it would be a good idea to keep our eyes open for new tributes this year. There were a couple in my area that ONLY had the Katrina info/tribute on paper, NOT ONLINE, and I was able to scan and send them on for identification because for the dogs that were described in one flyer, we never could find that they'd been posted on PF as found. So my friends here (you know who you are) created the found reports for these in PF. This could be another opportunity!
Just found another link that may be of some use:
