The dozens of scars on the face and body of Jackson, a pit bull who survived major surgeries and Hurricane Katrina, make him look "a little scary, sorta like an attack dog," says his owner, Sue Smith, of Great Falls. Jackson was found on the side of the road, bruised, battered and so horribly scarred that he was barely recognizable as a dog, said Sally Cerny of the Animal Foundation. Jackson was taken to a New Orleans veterinary clinic where he was treated for his many wounds and underwent plastic surgery.
