Hello,
I have a huge bag full of clean towels and blankets to donate. Is there anyone in the New York area with use of these? Please contact me at gsantonas@aol.com if you are interested.
thanks, Gina

Yes, the NYC shelters are in need of blankets and towels!!
I'm sure they LOVE it when people come in with stuff to donate instead of surrendering an animal!!!
Helpful hint: Even if the people there do not act like they appreciate it....the animals sure will!!!!
Very Happy

I love going to garage sales. I have a valid excuse to go.

I buy cheap old towels, blankets, etc & donate them to a no kill shelter. They are just thrilled to get them. My old supervisor retired a few years ago and moved the family to TN. I got a trunkload of old towels, blankets and rugs to donate as they didn't want to haul a bunch of stuff with them.

I frequently meet people with pets at garage sales. We get to talking about our pets and I just mention about the group I'm with that helps elderly pet owners. The people usually then ask where they can donate pet food, etc. so it is a win win. I don't "preach" or ask for donations ever.

My group also has a garage sale during the summer so we put up flyers asking for donations. We sell everything cheap so folks love our garage sale and watch for it every summer.

I think it is just WONDERFUL that you thought about donating those items instead of throwing them away. Thank you so much!

PS: I am yearly sponsor of a special needs kitty in Liverpool.
