| No, I don't have any pets. My parents can't afford to get me one. I am saving up my money though! |

Hamsters are good pets. They are cheap in the long run (in my opinion) because you can get a 6 pound bag of good hammy food for like less than 10$ and they only use 1 teaspoon a day. And treats are even more cheap, and then a TINY bit of fruits and veggies a day and they are happy campers. I cleaned my cage once a month and there was hadly anything in there. I gave mine fresh grown timithy hay from my friends farm, they love to make little tunnels in it and snack on it too. They get a little water feeder thingy that you rinse and re-fill everyday.
The only thing that can be a little pricey is the cage, they need lots of room to run and play and tubes to run in. I like the multi level cages with tubes all over the place. They love them too. They would probably be about $40.00. But if you are collecting money that would be nothing. I would also recommend getting a little 10.00 playpen thing, you can put them in that (never leave the room) and play with them. They are very interesting pets. Some may have had diferent experiences but with mine the most friendly and lovable was a bigger hammy not dwarf and was a long haired. They are layed back and let you hold them and everything.
They are great pets...
Good luck!
