Alabama State Law - Title 13A-11-241A - Cruelty to Animals
- A person commits the crime of cruelty to a dog or cat in
the first degree if he or she intentionally tortures any dog or
cat or skins a domestic dog or cat or offers for sale or
exchange or offers to buy or exchange the fur, hide or pelt of
a domestic dog or cat. Cruelty to a dog or cat in the first
degree is a Class C felony. The sentence for a Class C felony
is not more than ten years or less than 1 year and 1day. The
fine is not more than $5000.00.
- A person commits the crime of a cruelty to a dog or cat in the second degree if he or she, in a cruel manner, overloads, overdrives, deprives of necessary sustenance or shelter, unnecessarily or cruelly beats, injures, mutilates or causes the same to be done.
Cruelty to a dog or cat in the second degree is a Class A misdemeanor not more than one year. The fine is not more than $2000.00.

office at 205-780-7281 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. within 24
hours of this notice and let the contact person listed above know
that the violations have been corrected so that we may recheck
the property. We would certainly prefer to handle this without
having to file a warrant.
If these violations have not been corrected your animal/animals will be confiscated with the assistance of the sheriff and \or police departments.
