Animal Emergency Response Network
Petfinder created the first pet emergency response network, which helped more than 3,200 Hurricane Katrina pets find their owners. The network is dedicated to:
- Reuniting pets with their owners
- Finding temporary homes
- Helping rescuers find displaced pets in need of assistance
It includes pet photos, contact information and other updated information. The Network also offers an interactive message board for posting or communicating with others about the plight of pets, animals and people affected during times of disaster.
