1. ELIGIBILITY: Open to legal U.S. residents who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry and have Internet access as of November 5, 2008. Employees, officers and directors of Discovery Communications, LLC ("Sponsor"), Petfinder.com, its promotional partner InfoSpace, Inc., their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, TV production partners, advertising agencies, promotional suppliers and the immediate family members (spouses and parents, children and siblings and their spouses, regardless of where they live) or members of the same households (whether related or not) of such employees, officers and directors (collectively, "Contest Entities") are not eligible. All applicable federal, state, and local rules apply. Void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited or restricted by law.

2. CONTEST DESCRIPTION: The Dogpile Pet-Parent Look-Alike Photo Contest ("Contest") provides entrants an opportunity to submit a photo of themselves and their pets that shows a resemblance between the person and the pet. The Contest entries will be judged and the ten top-scoring Finalists will be invited to participate in the People's Choice Voting round, in which the public will vote to determine the Grand Prize winner and two Runner-up winners.

3. TO SUBMIT AN ENTRY: The Contest begins at 12:01 PM Eastern Time ("ET") on November 5, 2008, and ends at 11:59 PM ET on November 26, 2008 ("Contest Period"). To enter, visit www.petfinder.com/lookalike to access the Contest entry page. Complete the online entry form. You will then be given directions on how to upload the photo of you and your pet. The photo may be in color or black and white, must be only in GIF (.gif) or JPEG (.jpg) format and may not exceed a file size of 4 megabytes. Files exceeding the maximum size will not be accepted. Photo must be the property of the entrant; entrant must know the names and addresses of any identifiable persons in the photo and must have permission from those persons to submit the photo. Submit your entry so that it is received by Sponsor's server by 11:59 PM ET on November 26, 2008. Entries must include one photo of both a person and a pet in order to qualify for judging.

You may enter as often as you wish, but each entry must be different, must meet all entry requirements and must be submitted separately. Entries must be completed in English. By submitting an entry, you grant permission, without limitation, for your photo and name to be displayed online as part of the Dogpile Pet-Parent Look-Alike Photo Contest. Further, by entering you warrant and represent that your entry is your own original work created by you, is true and verifiable, has not been previously published, has not won a previous prize or award, that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to your entry materials and that your entry does not violate any law, regulation or any right of any third-party, including but not limited to rights of copyright, publicity and privacy. Submitting an entry that is copyrighted by another individual will make you responsible for any legal action the legal copyright holder might take action against you.

Entrants grant the Sponsor all rights of ownership, reproduction, and use of entries for any purpose whatsoever without compensation or further permission, including but not limited to an irrevocable and perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide right, in all media (now known or later developed) to assign, use, publish, edit, adapt, modify, alter, reproduce, distribute, display, copyright, create derivative works or otherwise exploit entries, for commercial or non-commercial use, and without compensation to the entrant. By entering the Contest, each entrant waives any and all rights he or she may have to the photograph. To the extent entrant has any rights in the photograph, the entrant assigns all such rights to the Sponsor by entering the Contest.

Entries may not defame or invade the rights of publicity or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon a person's personal or proprietary rights. Submissions that are deemed by the judges in their sole discretion to be immoral, obscene, profane or not in keeping with Sponsor's image will be disqualified. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entry at any time which, in the Sponsor's reasonable opinion, endangers the safety or well being of any person or in the event it is determined that the entrant has not complied with these Official Rules. Other than for winner notification, neither Sponsor, nor anyone acting on its behalf, will enter into any communication with any entrant regarding this Contest, nor will entries be acknowledged or returned.

Periodically throughout the Contest Period, Petfinder.com may, at its sole discretion, select photos and captions to be featured online at www.petfinder.com/lookalike. Being so selected will have no bearing on whether an entry is chosen as a Finalist once the initial Contest judging is complete.

4. JUDGING: Entries will be judged initially by the Contest Administrator (Petfinder.com) based on the following judging criteria: Relevance to Contest theme (50%) and appeal (50%). In the event of a tie, winner will be determined by the highest appeal score. The ten entries receiving the highest scores will be declared the Finalists. The names and photos of the Finalists will be posted at www.petfinder.com/lookalike as part of the People's Choice Voting.

5. FINALIST NOTIFICATION AND ACCEPTANCE: The ten potential Finalists will be advised of their having been selected by email and/or telephone on or about December 3, 2008, and may be required to sign and return a release form indicating their compliance with the Contest rules and confirming that their Contest entry is original and that they have all necessary rights in the entry as set out in these Contest rules. In the event that a potential Finalist cannot be contacted, does not return the release form within the prescribed time or chooses to waive his/her right to compete in the People's Choice Voting, that Finalist will forfeit his/her position as a Finalist and an alternate will be selected.

6. PEOPLE'S CHOICE VOTING: On December 10, 2008, the ten Finalist entries will be displayed on the Contest site at www.petfinder.com/lookalike, to be voted upon by the public. Visitors to the site may vote between 12:01 PM ET on December 10, 2008, and 11:59 PM ET on December 24, 2008, for the Finalists whose entries, in the voter's opinion, best reflects the resemblance between parent and pet. Limit one vote per person per day.

The Finalist receiving the most votes will be named the Grand Prize winner. The two Finalists receiving the next-highest scores will be named Runners-Up. If for any reason the winners cannot be selected through People's Choice Voting, including without limitation, as a result of a tie between/among the Finalists, insufficient or ineligible entries, voting, or any other reason, Contest Administrator shall select the winners based upon the judging criteria identified in Section 4.

7. WINNER NOTIFICATION/PRIZES: The winners will be notified on or about January 5, 2009, and will be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release, and (where legal) a publicity release, which must be returned by date specified in notification letter or an alternate winner may be selected. If a winner is 18 years of age or older as is required for entry but is not of the age of majority in his/her state of residence, prize will be awarded in the name of his/her parent or legal guardian.

The following prizes will be awarded:

One (1) Grand Prize: $2,500 cash prize. Total Approximate Retail Value of Grand Prize: $2,500.

One (1) First Runner-up Prize: $500 cash prize. Total Approximate Retail Value of First Runner-up Prize: $500

One (1) Second Runner-up Prize: $250 cash prize. Total Approximate Retail Value of Second Runner-up Prize: $250

8. GENERAL: All taxes on prizes and all expenses related to acceptance and use of the prizes not specified are the sole responsibility of winners. By participating, entrants agree: [a] to these rules and decisions of Sponsor and Contest Administrator, which shall be final in all respects relating to the Contest; and [b] to release, discharge and hold harmless Contest Entities from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind resulting from their participating in the Contest or their acceptance, use or misuse of a prize including, without limitation, personal injury, death and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, copyright, trademark, defamation or invasion of privacy. Entrants agree to grant Sponsor: [a] all rights of ownership, reproduction and use of Contest entry for any purpose whatsoever without compensation or further permission, including but not limited to an irrevocable and perpetual, royalty-fee, worldwide right, in all media (now known or later developed) to assign, use, publish, edit, adapt, modify, alter, reproduce, distribute, broadcast, display, copyright, create derivative works or otherwise exploit entries, for commercial or non-commercial use; and if a winner, [b] to permit Contest Entities to use his or her name, photograph, likeness, Contest entry, biographical information, voice, voice likeness, and city and state address for advertising, publicity and promotional purposes in all media, including but not limited to within Sponsor's Web site www.petfinder.com/lookalike, in perpetuity, without compensation (unless prohibited by law) and agree to execute specific consent to such use upon request. Contest Entities are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: [a] any telecast, cable or telephone malfunctions, human error, satellite transmission failures, or delayed telecasts or preemption of or the failure of a cable affiliate to televise Animal Planet® or any affiliated Sponsor network in all or any parts of the United States; [b] electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind, including without limitation, server malfunction or by any human error which may occur in the processing of entries; [c] failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions; [d] late, lost, misdirected or incomplete entries; or [e] any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsor that may cause the promotion to be disrupted or corrupted. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest or any portion thereof should viruses, bugs or other causes beyond the control of Sponsor corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the Contest, and limit entries to those submitted prior to the action taken, or to proceed in such a manner as may be deemed fair and equitable by Sponsor in its sole discretion and to award the prizes from all eligible entries received prior to such action taking place. No prize transfer or cash redemption. No prize substitution, in whole or in part, except by Sponsor due to prize unavailability, safety or security considerations, or any other reason as solely determined by Sponsor in which case a prize of comparable or greater value will be awarded. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE PROMOTION MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Internet entry must be made by the Entrant only at the authorized Web site address of www.petfinder.com/lookalike. Entries may not be made by any other individual or any entity, and/or originating at any other Internet Web site or e-mail address, including but not limited to commercial contest and sweepstakes subscription notification and/or entering service sites. Any person who enters or votes by any of the methods described above will be disqualified. Use of any device to automate entry or voting is prohibited. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entry or vote at any time in the event it is determined that the Entrant or voter has not complied with these Official Rules. This Contest is governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, with jurisdiction and venue in Montgomery County, Maryland, and all claims must be resolved in the courts of Montgomery County, Maryland.

9. ENTRY INFORMATION: Please note that by entering this Contest and by checking the "opt-in" boxes on the entry form for this promotion, you are [a] agreeing that the Sponsor may share your entry information (including your name, address, email address, etc.) with our promotional partners and other parties; and [b] granting us, our promotional partners and other third parties with which we choose to share your information, permission to contact you about our upcoming shows, promotions or for other reasons.
