We lost our dog, who wandered off from our house, and just 18 hours later, we got a call from the nearby animal hospital that someone had brought her in!

I couldn't have asked for a more timely response. When she went missing, I freaked out because I didn't know her microchip ID number. I called the vet who'd implanted it and they gave me the chip ID and the number to call HomeAgain.

I called HomeAgain, and the lady I spoke with was so helpful and comforting. She updated my account with all my current information and instructed me on how to set up the lost-pet posters and notification.

We recently spoke with Pit Bull rescuer Tia Torres of Villalobos Rescue Center in Santa Clarita, CA, and star of Animal Planet's hit show Pit Bulls and Parolees (Saturdays at 10 p.m. ET).

PETFINDER: Who is Cheryl?
TIA: Cheryl is a young girl who was addicted to heroin and lived a rough life.

Why was she separated from Roxy and for how long?
She became separated from Roxy when she was arrested out of a hotel room. They were apart for a year and a half.

How did Roxy come to be in your care?
Because the arrest took place in Oxnard, "someone" contacted "someone" who knew that Mando worked for a Pit Bull rescue so Roxy and her puppies were brought to a friend of his house.
