It was a crisp September morning, just after dawn, as I ran down the stairs of my Bronx apartment to make the 7am train to work. Just as I was about to run out of the door, I heard a purring sound coming from behind me. I let my curiosity get the best of me and turned around to find the source.
To my surprise, when I looked behind the desk, I saw the tiniest, most adorable kitten peering up at me. At first glance, I knew that she was in need of help and decided that I couldn’t leave this beautiful little creature behind. I carefully carried her up to my apartment, where my roommates welcomed her unconditionally. We took it upon ourselves to find her family. As we strolled along Fordham Road, we ran into Ginger’s family who were posting photos of their missing pet! We were thrilled to have found her family and to return her safely home.
So….. I didn’t quite make it to work on time that one Monday morning BUT I helped one cat find her loving family. Luckily for me, my boss was a cat parent and would’ve done the same thing. Every cat deserves to be loved….. and everyone can love a cat!
Petfinder’s “I am a Cat Parent” campaign is aiming to spotlight cat lovers and cat parents in hopes of motivating individuals everywhere to love a cat of their own! Although I’m allergic to cats and can’t have one of my own, I am the cousin and friend of many cat parents who couldn’t possibly be any happier with their furriest family member. Check out Petfinder.com to find adoptable cats in your neighborhood and become a cat parent. You won’t regret it!
