Puppy Bowl VII will air on Feb. 6 on Animal Planet, and since all the “players” are Petfinder alumni, we picked two puppies to get DNA tests from our partner, Canine Heritage Breed Test.
This week and next we’ll give you a sneak peek at these adorable pups, and you can guess what their DNA tests will reveal. We’ll share the results here during Puppy Bowl (Sunday, Feb. 6 at 3 p.m. ET).
Today, meet Two Face – then come back Monday to meet Jackson.
Two Face was born a rescue. His mother, a Boxer mix named Sissy, was kicked while pregnant, her pelvis broken, before she was taken in by Luvfurmutts in Cincinnati.
Sissy needed an emergency C-section to save her and her puppy’s lives. “Two days after that, she was in for surgery to repair her pelvic bone,” Cat Terry, Sissy and Two Face’s foster mom, tells us. “We had to bottle feed her puppies” — no easy feat, as anyone who’s done every-two-hour feedings can tell you.
Despite his rough start in life, Two Face is a model pet. “Two Face is very playful and gentle,” says Cat. “He protects my grandson with herding movements and lets the baby do anything to him he wants.
“Two Face loves to be outdoors. He especially has enjoyed the snowy winter this year. He has a very woolly coat. His biggest trait is that he will gently latch on to your wrist and lead you to where he needs you to go.”
Can you guess what breeds the DNA test will reveal? Tell us below, then check back on Feb. 6 at 3 p.m. ET to find out!
