DoSomething.com gives grants to teens to help homeless pets

Here is yet another brilliant example of how teens are changing the world. Recently, DoSomething.org and the ASPCA partnered to create an animal-welfare awareness campaign called "Lost and Found." The goal was to get young people thinking about how they could make sure homeless animals got into good homes and stayed there. They even offered grants of $500 towards two amazing projects!

This is what DoSomething.org had to say about the two winners:

Sharleen D from Arcadia, CA, plans to take pictures of all the lost pets at her local animal shelter and make an album on Facebook and share it with her friends. She will also host her own animal homelessness awareness campaign in her city by posting fliers and information in public places.

Sophia E from Baxter Springs, KS, is going to start a program to supply pet owners with proper id for their pets and a local system to bring interested pet owners together to teach them the importance of tagging. She's also going to start a blog featuring photos of lost pets from her community!

Don't these two ladies seem like the perfect future employees for Petfinder.com? Congratulations to Sharleen and Sophia for making the lives of pets and their future owners even better.
