(Meet the runners-up, whose caretakers will receive copies of Petfinder's Adopted Dog Bible.)
Marley's Pit Stop founder (and Liza Bean's foster mom) Elizabeth Lujambio was overcome with emotion when she learned that Liza Bean had garnered the most votes, telling us, "I am so grateful to Petfinder and to Victoria Stilwell for this opportunity to help Liza Bean."
Although Liza B. does "great" with other dogs (cats not so much), Elizabeth says she's got a long way to go with people: "I can't even have a volunteer take her for a walk -- she is terrified and flattens herself to the ground. I'm concerned about her quality of life. [But] she has learned to trust me, and I know that we can find someone who can give her what I give her."
Elizabeth thinks Victoria Stilwell's advice will be just what the doctor ordered for this very special dog. "What I like about Victoria is that it's not about manhandling or dominating the dog," she says. "It's about understanding the particular dog and giving her an environment where she can thrive -- and that is what I want."

Victoria Stilwell to help one lucky, behavior-challenged shelter dog

That's great news about Charlize/Liberty! Thanks Rosie and please keep us posted!
Thank you to Marley's Pit Stop for saving Liza!!!!! I think Liza will be great when she gets the love and attention she truly deserves from a new home. Liza is a beauty!!
Update on Charlize! Christie Miller with K9Mastery took on Charlize as a donated project. After 4 days with Christie it was like she was a totally different dog. Christie also helped in finding Charlize who is now known as "Liberty" a forever home with a very loving family.
Congratulations to Liza Bean! Thank you, Petfinder for helping to get these dogs noticed!
WooHoo! There were several deserving dogs and owners, however; I voted for Liza Bean because I think the media needs to shed more positive light on pit bulls/Am Staffs.
I'm looking forward to catching that episode of It's Me or the Dog. I love that show. There is nothing more impressive than giving a dog confidence through positive training methods.
I'm so glad you won, Liza Bean!!! I voted for you every day. You are such a beautiful dog. I hope Victoria can help you overcome you're shyness so you can enjoy life like evry dog should. You might even learn that litties are okay, too!
