My guinea pig, Skunk, was found wandering around in a park. He was malnourished and had an upper respiratory infection. A Good Samaritan found him and graciously saved his life by getting him to the Critter Corral, where he was treated for his illness and plumped back up to a normal weight.
Skunk is a special needs guinea pig; he has some tight muscles in his neck and needs to have some medicine every night. Special needs are my favorite kind of pet! I think it is so very sad when an animal is destroyed because of a problem that might make them unadoptable.
This little guy is so lovable; he will sit in my lap for long periods of time. He wheeks with anticipation when he hears the cellophane package of the Romaine lettuce. Then he hides into his hide-a-way like any self-respecting guinea pig would do when Mom tries to pick him up. I love all my piggies, but Skunk has captured my heart, and I'm so happy he is part of my family now!
