When I lost my dog do to a stoke, I knew I needed another. We have a chocolate Lab at home, but he was definitely my other halves best friend. So we decided we would rescue another Lab, I found Guthrie a Yellow Lab, on the Lake Erie Labrador Retriever Rescue sight. He was brought to my home by the foster parents, and he was very hyper. He could not calm down, trying to take food off the table, went to my family room where I keep the basket of dog toys, and took every toy out of that basket and had them all over. After he left, my mother looked at me and said that is not the dog for you. My answer to her was "Mom I think he might be" I explained to her he was a rescue and is not sure where he belongs. I then told her I was going to take him for the trial period. I had him for two weeks, and in that amount of time he had adapted to our home, our routine, and our Louie. Guthrie has been a great addition to our family, he and Louie get along great. I could not imagine my life without Guthrie and I thank Lake Erie Lab Rescues and Bob and Danielle, Guthrie's foster family for keeping him until I could give him his forever home.
