My husband and I had jut recently married, and had wanted a pet for some time. After searching for pets on Petfinder, I came across a couple of cats that seemed to be having trouble getting out of the shelter system at OAS. After contacting the shelter itself, I met with a three cats. The last cat on my list was Pashley (we changed her name to Nutmeg because of the nutmeg colored hair that is on her chest, and because I love to cook). It was love at first sight! We played, she nuzzled me and allowed me to pet her (one of the cats I met with actually bit me, so this was heaven!). I knew in minutes that she was perfect. She hadn't been adopted because every time someone saw that she had long hair (and not that long at that!), they wouldn't even bother taking a second look. Her fur is the silkiest fur I have ever seen, and she LOVES being brushed, so grooming her is actually a breeze and quality time as well. I have owned many many cats over the years, and this one was the first one I adopted that wasn't a kitten. It worked out better than I could have hoped, because I was able to know her character in advance, and she is just the most loving, smart, and sweet cat I have ever known! Long story short, she found her perfect home- she just had to wait a little longer than she should have to get there!
