I had never been much of an animal lover, and I especially didn't like cats. After moving into my new house, I decided I wanted to try owning a pet. My first thought was a dog, but after considering my busy life, and on the advice of family, I decided to adopt a cat, even though I was sure I wouldn't like her. I adopted Anastasia (left) in December 2007 from Michigan Cat Rescue after finding her on Petfinder.com. The frightened little kitten exited the carrying cage in my home and disappeared. I didn't see her for the rest of the day. As I was sitting at my desk, looking at puppies online, she ventured out to take a closer look at me and again disappeared. Later that night, I hear a cry on the floor next to my bed. I patted the bed, and she jumped up and allowed me to pet her. This continued even so many hours until two or three days later when she began greeting me when I came home from work. We quickly became good friends. Feeling bad about her being home by herself all day, I went back to Petfinder.com and adopted Tatiana (right) from Shelter to Home. Tatiana was immediately at home and after a quick tour jumped into my lap for a nap. The two of them quickly became best friends and my two little girls. Today, people laugh at the former cat hater who now has pictures of his cats on his desk and delights in spoiling his kittens. Adopting Anastasia and Tatiana was one of the best decisions of my life. I couldn't imagine life without them. They bring so much love and joy into my life and I'm thankful to Petfinder.com, Michigan Cat Rescue and Shelter to Home for giving me my two little girls. Thank you.
