I have been a cat lover all of my life. I formerly bred Persians and I assist the local humane society. I have a soft spot for Persians and Maine Coons. For several weeks I was drawn to Rosie's photo and, knowing she was a "senior" and a little less adoptable, finally contacted her foster to see if Rosie was still available. To my delight, she was available and was even cuter in person than she was in her photos. She's now a fixture in my feline family. Probably the best part of this story, however, is that adopting Rosie prompted me to volunteer to assist Persian Rescue of Virginia in finding homes for other Persians. I now share my home not only with my own furry kids but also with Persian fosters looking for good homes through Petfinder. It's very fulfilling to be able to match a wonderful cat in need of a second chance with a wonderful owner willing to do what he or she can.
