We kept a kitten from a stray cat. We lived in a mobile home park. Every summer we stay in our RV at Pineview Reservoir. We usually live a window open so the cat can go in and out. Our dog stayed with us at the lake. We would go home twice a week, and the cat would always be there. The third summer, my daughter and her son moved in. She never saw the cat. Later, the rescue coordinator told me that Bambam came very close to being euthanized. That's not so surprizing on its face since the NYC ACC euthanizes hundreds of animals every week or so, but BamBam was young and unusually attractive - the kind of dog that "gets out". Chimmy is a beautiful, red longhaired Dachshund. He was being fostered by a kind lady in Arkansas after he was surrendered from a neglectful home where he was attacked by two large dogs. I'm the school director of Petite Pooch Chateau Dog Grooming Academy. The students, instructors, past graduates and I went to assist during the Kaufman Texas Puppy Mill bust. We bathed, shaved, clipped nails, etc. The dogs were in horrible shape. I adopted Mr. Pickle. I have always wanted a schnauzer. However, I was torn between getting a puppy or a rescue dog. I love rescues because we (my husband and I) own two already. I adopted Jack from the Belmont County animal shelter in St. Clairsville, Ohio on the 16th. We renamed him Jackson. He is adjusting to his new home and environment very nice!
