A year, almost to the day that I had to put down my 17-year-old Pit Bull, Emma, I looked one more time at the city's Petfinder website. There she was! I had adopted a mini-schnauzer who turned out to be a spectacular dog two years prior from the folks at the same shelter. But he needed a friend, and I wanted a girl dog in the house again. Well, I was picked by the perfect dog: an 80-lb. black-and-tan Coonhound. She was rescued from being tied to a pole in a not-so-nice neighborhood by a Boston Police Detective. I'd love for him to know she is safe and happy in the home of a City of Boston EMT. She is a very happy girl, and we are thrilled with her!
