Simon has bilateral cataracts. No one wanted him as the surgery to correct them is about $3000. His foster mom put the cataracts in his Petfinder bio, but when I saw Simon's picture on Petfinder, I just knew. He knew when we met. He jumped on my lap when I sat to talk to his wonderful foster mom. The 2-1/2 hour car ride to his forever home was uneventful. Big brother, Samuel, a 10-year-old Schnauzer, thought he MIGHT be able to tolerate him. Turns out, they are now buds. As of this message, Simon is a year old and still has not had his surgery. How could anyone consider this beautiful, silky, loving boy was "garbage." He is the happiest, sweetest, most adventuresome boy you could hope for. He loves puzzle toys (did I mention his intelligence?). His lack of vision has made him rely on Samuel for direction and safety. Recently, we have added another Schnauzer to the bachelor pack, Benjamin, five months old. Simon thinks he is the best "toy" I have ever brought home. Just look at Simon's picture. See the contentment brimming over from those soulful eyes? Send him a prayer for his eyes. His other prayers have been answered.
